Is Linky AI safe? Its age rules, content limits, privacy and the laws that may apply

Linky AI is an AI character chat app whose Google Play listing names Skywork AI Pte. Ltd., with a Singapore address, as the developer, and whose Apple App Store listing names SKYWORK AI PTE LTD as the seller. This guide sets out what Linky's own terms, privacy policy and app store listings say as of October 22, 2026, what they do not address, and which state chatbot laws may be relevant.

Updated October 22, 2026. Facts checked against the cited sources on October 22, 2026.

The short answer

Linky AI's terms say the service is not for anyone under 17, and not for anyone under 18 when it comes to paid subscriptions and social features. Its Google Play listing carries a Mature 17+ rating and its App Store listing an 18+ rating. Its terms and privacy policy do not describe an age check beyond users' own statements; its App Store listing names Age Assurance as an in-app control without describing it.

Its privacy policy says chat data is encrypted and processed only for security purposes, including automatic screening for illegal content involving pornography, violence or scams. Neither the policy nor the terms says whether chats are used to train AI, and we did not find a Linky page describing a suicide or self-harm protocol. We found no regulator or attorney general action naming it in official sources as of October 22, 2026.

Who runs it and who can use it

As of October 22, 2026, Linky AI's terms (effective March 7, 2024) and privacy policy (effective January 25, 2024) refer to the operator only as Linky and give support@linke.ai as the contact. Its Google Play listing names Skywork AI Pte. Ltd., at an address in Singapore, as the developer, and its App Store listing names SKYWORK AI PTE LTD as the seller.

The terms are governed by Singapore law. Disputes go to binding arbitration at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, and claims may be brought only on an individual basis.

The terms say the service is not for people under 17, or under 18 for paid subscriptions and social networking features. One section says users under 17 need a parent's or guardian's consent, while another says users under 17 are not authorized to register. The privacy policy says Linky is not directed to minors under 17 and that it deletes data and closes the account if it learns a user is under 17.

How age is checked

Linky AI's terms and privacy policy do not describe an age verification method; users state that they meet the eligibility rules when they register. Its App Store listing says the app is rated 18+ with content restrictions and that access to some content is managed by the developer through in-app controls. It lists Age Assurance as an in-app control but does not describe how it works, and we did not find a Linky page that does.

Content rules

Linky AI's app store listings describe chat and roleplay with AI characters, voice chat, user-created characters and emotional support conversations. Its terms prohibit what they call Objectionable Content, including content that is:

  • pornographic, obscene, violent or hateful;
  • harmful to minors in any way;
  • meant to encourage a user to harm themselves or others, or to incite violence, including suicide;
  • abusive, harassing, defamatory or infringing on others' rights.

The terms say users can report Objectionable Content by email or in the app, and that Linky may warn users, remove content, suspend or close accounts, or report users to law enforcement. They say Linky owns the characters users create on the service.

Crisis and self-harm features

Linky AI's terms prohibit content that encourages users to harm themselves or incites suicide. We did not find a Linky page describing how the app responds when users mention suicide or self-harm, or listing crisis lines. Its terms do not address emotional support or mental health. Its app store listings describe emotional support conversations.

Privacy: what happens to your chats

As of October 22, 2026, Linky AI's privacy policy says:

  • It may collect text and voice chat data, photos and images in user content, location data and account and device data.
  • Chat data is protected by encryption and processed only for security purposes, including automatic screening for illegal pornography, violence and scams. The terms add that Linky may access chat data to automatically monitor and screen Objectionable Content.
  • It uses Google Analytics and AppsFlyer and may share behavioral and profiling data with online advertising providers. It says it generally does not directly sell personal data in the conventional sense, but that making data such as online identifiers available to advertising and business partners may be considered a sale under California's privacy law. California users can opt out by emailing support@linke.ai.
  • It runs servers in several countries and may transfer data to other places where affiliated companies are located.
  • It keeps personal data as long as needed for business purposes and legal, tax or finance requirements, without giving specific periods.

Neither the privacy policy nor the terms says whether chats are used to train AI models or whether staff can read chats. Its App Store listing says usage data may be used to track users, and its Google Play listing says app activity and device IDs are shared with third parties.

Deleting your account

Linky AI's privacy policy says to email support@linke.ai to delete an account, and that the account can no longer be used afterwards. Its Google Play listing says users can request that their data be deleted. Its terms say deleting content in the app does not end the agreement, and that unused coins are lost when an account closes.

Subscriptions, coins and refunds

Linky AI's terms say subscriptions renew automatically each month, quarter or year until cancelled through the App Store or Google Play, and that refund requests go to Apple or Google. They say coins have no real-world value, can be used only in the app and may be changed or eliminated by Linky. Its App Store listing says the app contains loot boxes, and its Google Play listing says it contains ads and in-app purchases.

Government actions

We found no attorney general, FTC or other regulator action naming Linky AI or Skywork AI Pte. Ltd. in official sources as of October 22, 2026. It was not among the seven companies that received the FTC's companion chatbot orders in September 2025, or among the 13 companies named as recipients of the multistate attorney general letters announced on August 25 and December 10, 2025.

Which chatbot laws may be relevant

No law names Linky AI. Whether a particular service counts as a companion chatbot under a given law is a legal question. These state laws set duties for companion chatbot operators:

  • California SB 243, in effect since January 1, 2026: operators must give a clear notice that the chatbot is AI when a reasonable person would be misled, keep a protocol to prevent suicide and self-harm content that refers users to crisis services, publish details of that protocol on their website, and tell users companion chatbots may not suit some minors. Injured users can sue.
  • New York's AI companion law, in effect since November 5, 2025: operators need a protocol that makes reasonable efforts to detect suicidal thoughts or self-harm and refer users to crisis services, and must tell users they are not talking to a human at the start of an interaction and at least every three hours.
  • Washington HB 2225 and Oregon SB 1546, both effective January 1, 2027: operators must disclose that the chatbot is AI (in Oregon, when a reasonable person could think it is human), run and publish a suicide and self-harm protocol with crisis referrals, and add protections for users the operator knows are minors (in Washington, also where the chatbot is directed to minors; in Oregon, also where the operator has reason to believe a user is a minor).

We are not saying Linky AI is covered by, or out of compliance with, any of these laws. It may have practices it has not published, and whether a law applies to it is a legal question this guide does not decide.
